Bollywood Cinema: "Depth" in the movies is gone!!!

Hi Frendz!

After a long time, almost a year, want to share some views of mine.
Fortunately there were many but unfortunately i was not able to take some time out.

So, here I want to discuss about the Indian Cinema... the Bollywood cinema that has come a long way. From Jahanara to Ra-one; it's completely changed with the radical shift in the surroundings, economy, society, taste, that overall led to change in the mindset of people.

I don't feel the "deepness" and "genuinity" in today's movies. Its just the no. game now a days. For eg. Bodyguard, Ra-one, or take any other movies, the success of the film or they earned the "blockbuster" status merely on the basis of gross collection of a week; no matter what's the story or what's the act.

People started making films by taking the view that what clicks the audience and the best part is that - the ingredients to connect with masses are "gaalis", nudity, exotic locations, high technology, item numbers..... and it really works surprisingly!!

Aakhirkar, "jo dikhta hai vo bikta hai" - marketing funda, that seems to be true.

Though, there were many Directors who want to make films like old classics, but since today's genX srry Gen Y, find it not happening... they stopped making such films.

Eg. is Suraj barjatya; his movies were different and tightly knitted family oriented films and that's why they were all big hits (becoz now a days people didn't get chance to see it in real life).

When I go back to old era, I found a lot of "depth" in the movies in terms of act, script, music, lyrics, everything.

People had stopped making such gud content movies and moved to money grosser flicks were there is less act, more technology.... Less stress on script, more on ambience, less on playback singing, more on instruments, which makes in a nutshell.... a film with so much investment but as a whole its a "hollow stuff".

Latest example is "Desi Boyz" - waste of money.

The difference is also very clear - Earlier people used to make films to inspire people, build d society, develop d humanity nd tell d new gen about our rich culture nd today its all no. Game, who is no 1, how much profit, highest grosser film, one week gross collection, that's it...

And on the top of it because now a days people are also not connected, in todays hectic life, they just want to chill and relax for 2:30 hr movie without taking "heavy gyaan" which is justified as well!

But aaj bhi I used to miss the era of the greatest bollywood actors like Rajendra Kumar, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Sunil dutt, Raj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Om prakash, Dileep Kumar and many others, but as one of my frend said ...Those legends, times and movies with similar scripts would never come back but those legendary acts would remain in our hearts forever.

And STILL I'VE A BETTER CONNECT WITH ALL THOSE FILMS BECAUSE I LEARNED VALUES FROM THEM IN REAL LIFE!!!
